Have you ever heard the saying, “putting God in a box”? I think that some people think they can put God aside while they run amuck and when they think they need Him, or when trouble comes their way, they will pull Him out and ask for some help!
The thing we all need to remember is that God has “in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he has appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, … uphold[s] all things by the word of his power.” (Hebrews 1:1-3)
It’s really easy to run around and feel all warm and fuzzy, thinking we are so godly, but how do we act when things don’t go the way we expected? The Lord is with us at all times. The good times and the bad. Don’t just call on Him when things are not going well.
“I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” (Psalm 34:1)
God gives us care and protection: “Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, On those who hope in His mercy…” (Psalm 33:19). “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry.” (Psalm 34:15)
The lord will deliver us from all our fears: “I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.” (Psalm 34:4)
He will save us out of all our troubles: “This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.” (Psalm 34:6)
He will guard us and deliver us: “The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.” (Psalms 34:7)
The Lord hears our cries: “The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.” (Psalm 34:17)
