It’s a shocker, to say the least, when you are trying very hard to mind your own business, and the Lord suddenly breaks in on your seemingly perfect day and all but ruins it. Well, that’s exactly what the Lord did back in November 1, 2002. That was the day that the veil was pulled back and I saw an assassination attempt on then President George Bush (I saw this in a clearly prophetic dream). To be sure, I saw the president, exposed in a very public place, and a photographer who was easily able to catch some of the event on camera. I also saw at least two lazy security officers (likely the “secret service”) who, instead of paying close attention to the president, were off on the side having some fun when it was not at all the time to have some fun. In the dream, they seemed to be talking with some guy at some corner store. In any event, they were completely aloof and unaware of what was happening with the president.
The dream pinpointed the blame for the near successful assassination attempt squarely on the security forces, who did not do their job. The “media’ was shown to me to indicate that media would catch elements of the event on camera – before the security forces would have a chance to do anything about it. Would the attempt be successful, though? This I did not know from the dream. The dream left me proverbially “breathless” because I knew the Lord had shown me this. It was riveting. I remember sitting on the floor and telling my family members, “I need to write a letter to the White House”. So I did. I sent it by registered mail. I also sent a copy of the letter by email to both President Bush and Vice-President Dick Cheney. No response was ever returned except the two auto-responder messages from George Bush and Dick Cheney acknowledging receipt of my email. I guess I was considered “another nut case” in a potentially long list of “nut cases” that came forward with these types of things. Or did they?
At that time, I also decided to send out a prayer request to the prayer request network. I got back a few interesting replies. I will summarize two of them. The first came from a believing woman. The second came from a somewhat skeptical man. The believing woman wrote something like, “I think you’re right. I have been sensing this, too.” The somewhat skeptical man wrote something like, “I can’t say I have total faith in what you are saying.” Fair enough. There will always be both extremes. It’s the way it was with Jesus, too. Some said He was “good”. Others said He was “bad”. It’s the lot in life of every Christian believer to be labeled both ways. A Christian believer should not worry about it. We should not build our Christian identity on what other people say. It is the Lord whom we serve.
The Lord had shown me some other things around that time, as well, that had proven to be entirely true. But this event, I did not know when it would happen. Then, sometime in 2006, I “fell upon” a story on the CNN website about the Bush assassination attempt. It can be found here: http://edition.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/europe/01/11/georgia.grenade/index.html
This led me to do a little more digging, and I found the event listed on the FBI website: http://www.fbi.gov/news/stories/2006/january/grenade_attack011106
According to the CNN article, the assassination attempt occurred on May 10 (of 2005). That means that the Lord told me about the event just a little over 2 years and 6 months before the event actually occurred (2 years, 6 months, and 9 days to be exact).
The event is interesting, for the following reason:
The assassination attempt occurred while the president was visiting the Republic of Georgia. A man threw a live grenade at the president, which “landed just 61 feet from where the President, First Lady Laura Bush, the President and First Lady of the Republic of Georgia, and other officials sat. The hand grenade failed to detonate, thankfully, as the red handkerchief wrapped tightly around it didn’t allow the firing pin to deploy fast enough” (http://www.fbi.gov/news/stories/2006/january/grenade_attack011106). Click on the previous link, and you will see a photo of the man actually holding the grenade in his hand, hidden underneath a red handkerchief. Amazing, isn’t it, that this is what the Lord showed me, that the media would get it on camera while the president’s security forces were not paying attention? It’s just as the Lord showed me. Because the Lord is faithful, and is a Revealer of secrets to whomever is listening.
Evidently, the president’s security forces did nothing in response to my letters sent more than two-and-a-half years before that time. They just ignored them. What then saved the president? Was it mere “luck”? I would never ascribe luck to a situation like this. Like Daniel did, we must give glory to God who is the One who saves lives. To give glory to man, or to say that it was mere “luck” that the grenade did not explode, is to deny the obvious and to not give Credit To Whom Credit Is Due.
The physical protection of President George Bush, his wife Laura, and the officials from the Republic of Georgia, as well as others, was a perfect gift given to them by a loving, heavenly, Father, who desires that none perish but that all come to repentance and be saved. For the Lord is “not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9). The Bible tells us that “Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.” (James 1:7)
Daniel had it right when he gave glory to God for closing the mouths of the lions. It was not “mere luck” that saved him. He knew that. That is why he said, “My God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths and they have not harmed me, inasmuch as I was found innocent before Him; and also toward you, O king, I have committed no crime.” (Daniel 6:22) Daniel was honored because he continually gave glory to God, To Whom Credit Is Due. Today, political correctness seems to have completely overridden any credit that could possibly be given to God. Therefore, we read things like, “the red handkerchief wrapped tightly around it didn’t allow the firing pin to deploy fast enough” (http://www.fbi.gov/news/stories/2006/january/grenade_attack011106). But no mention is given at all to the Lord, who IN FACT sent His angel to stop the grenade from exploding.
Another thing that is not mentioned is that, far from being successful, the president’s security forces actually failed. A fairly rosy picture is painted of the security personnel doing their jobs on that FBI web page. The truth is what the Lord showed me. And the truth is that the security forces were lazy and not doing their jobs. That comes right from the Lord. But it is empirically proven, as well, because right there on the FBI website, we have a picture of a man holding a concealed grenade underneath a red handkerchief. He was standing so close to the president of the United States and others that it was actually possible for him to launch a live grenade that landed within 61 feet of the president. There was no question he was close enough to launch an object that could have easily killed the president and others. This is a direct fault of the security forces.
Thus, I am here to correct a misrepresention of the truth on those two levels. How important is this? Exceedingly important. It is precisely on account of
(1) a lack of humility in acknowledging our sin, and
(2) a lack of giving God glory
that will lead a person straight to the chambers of hell and everlasting torment. Do not forget it.
The prayers of God’s people are not in vain. Thank-you to all who prayed in response to the prayer request that was sent out in early November, 2002!
