Dave is very uncomfortable talking about God, and he makes no bones about it.
‘God’ this, and ‘God’ that, Dave comes across as an infuritated man.
Deep inside, however, Dave is a puppy dog waiting to be given a good pat on the back. However, he has never been shown the ‘true’ side of God — just exactly who God is — so he commonly uses his name as a swear word.
Recently, Dave came down with cancer. Dave became worried. For the first time in his life, he began to give God a second thought and realize his need for him.
‘This cancer might drive me to the ground,’ Dave thought to himself. ‘Where then will I be? Where will I go? What will happen to me?’
For the first time in his life, Dave began thinking about spiritual things — things that really matter. Like God.
Fortunately, for Dave, God put him right next to a Christian where he works. Slowly, but surely, God used that Christian to make an impact in Dave’s life.
Now, Satan is scared.
All along, he thought that he ‘had’ Dave in the palm of his hands.
God, on the other hand, has used a seemingly tragic even to make an impression in Dave’s life.
Today, you might be that ‘Dave’. You might have a problem in your life that seems insurmountable. And you’re scared.
The good news is that you don’t need to be scared. God loves you. And that is why he sent Jesus Christ to die for you on a cross. The Bible says that whoever believes in him will not be put to shame. (Isaiah 28:16)
