Are you suffering? Are you needy? Are you feeling lonely? Are you feeling afraid? Are you feeling pain, or sadness, or grief? Are you facing a situation which seems next to impossible?
I want to offer you HOPE RIGHT NOW if you’ll only REACH OUT AND TAKE IT BY THE HAND. The name of this “hope” is Jesus Christ. He KNOWS about what you are going through, even though you may not fully know about it yourself. He UNDERSTANDS what you are going through, even though you may not fully understand it yourself. And he is able to do EXCEEDING ABUNDANTLY MORE THAN YOU COULD ASK OR THINK, even if you could not imagine what possibly it is that he could do!
This hope is the Author of Life, the Creator of all that is good. Every good and perfect gift comes from him. He loves you, and created you for a purpose. He wants to take hold of your life right now, and make it into something special. Trust Him. Put your faith in him. Depend upon him. That’s what he is there for.
He is a healer, a defender, a protector, a lover, and a friend. He is a provider, a guide, a shelter in the storm and a solid rock to stand on in times of distress. He is awesome, amazing, astounding, and incredible. He is “too good to be true.” He is Jesus, and he loves you and died for you. Today, he beckons you, “Come, and put your faith in me. You will never be disappointed. You will never be forsaken. I won’t leave you alone as an orphan, I will always be there to help you. Will you not trust me? I want to help you.”
His name, again, is Jesus.
Perhaps you’ve heard the song, that goes like this:
“Jesus, you’re the sweetest name of all.
Jesus, You always help me when I fall.
Jesus, You lift me up each time I call,
You’re the sweetest, the sweetest name of all.”
People who sing this song have come to learn first hand what it means to put their trust and confidence in this “author of life” — the one who foreknew you and me, even while we were not yet born!
“For You have formed my inward parts;
You have covered me in my mother’s womb …
My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret …
Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.” (Psalm 139:13, Psalm
These verses tell us that God knew you and me before we were even born — in fact, before we were even created in our mother’s womb! That is truly amazing. No wonder we also read, in the midst of these verses, the writer expressing his gratitude for having been created himself:
“I will praise You,
For I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvellous are Your works,
And … my soul knows [it] very well.” (Psalm 139:14)
Today, you are special. And you are loved. The one who loves you is Jesus. He loves you, and knows you, because he created you … and he created you for a purpose. As you learn to put your confidence in him, he will unfold that amazing, thrilling, awesome plan that he has always had for your life.
