I Saw Him On A Cross

I saw him on a cross,
My savior from long ago,
Hanging there,
Just for me.

It was as if,
There was no one else
In the whole wide world
That he was thinking about
Except me, me, me.

That is the way,
It came across
To me that day,
When I saw him hanging there.
All lonely as could be.

In his heart,
There was still love,
Love that was able
To think about me,
While he hung there,
On that cross.

Who could imagine,
A love like that,
That — in the midst of such
Turmoil and tribulation —
Could still be thinking
About me?

I do not know how he did it,
But he loved me,
While dying there
On that cross.

The Bible says
That he loved me,
And you,
And the whole world,
While dying there on that cross.

If you have not,
Received him yet,
As your One and Only
Lord and Savior,
It is not too late.

For if you are living,
You still have the chance
To escape that place,
Where (as it says in the Bible),
All cowards,
All Unbelievers,
All Abominable persons,
All Murderers
All Sexually immoral persons,
All Sorcerers,
All Idolaters, and
All liars must dwell.

For they desire to dwell there,
Since they have rejected,
The only provision,
For their sin.

And what is that provision?
If not for the blood of Christ?
For (as it says in the Bible again),
‘Without the shedding of blood,
There is no forgiveness.’

So if you,
(Like I not so long ago)
Have discovered,
That you have partaken
Of these sinful things

Then be assured,
That Christ stands ready
To come into
Your heart today,
If only …
You would let him do so.

Too dirty to let him in?
But for this reason he came!
To clean you up,
And give you new life.

Do not be afraid
To let him into your
Heart today.
For today — yes, today, my friend —
Is the ‘day of salvation’.

‘6 Seek the LORD while he may be found, call on him while he is near. 7 Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.’ (Isaiah 55:6-7)
