How can I organize my life? How can I make it work? What can I do in order to be effective in my place of work, and in my job? What about my family? What about my job?
1. Be at my work at a regular hour. Don’t fluctuate the hours all the time, expecting people to “fluctuate with you.” Be consistent. That way, everyone else around you will have a clear idea of the expectations that you are putting upon them. They won’t think that you are “wandering.” And you will be perceived as being stable, which is what you want.
2. Go home at a regular hour (e.g. 5:00 p.m.) This way, you can spend a regular, consistent, amount of time with your children.
3. Take your wife out on a periodic basis, say, once every week. Let God do a work between you two. You need that. God will reward you, because you are putting emphasis in a place that matters for great influence and reward in your life for years to come. Your children, too, will benefit greatly, as they see the amazing stability come between you and your wife. You are both “worth it” — worth spending quality time on each other.
4. Let God know that he is special, too, to you. Make sure to reserve a special time for him each day, say, when you get up, or, when you go to bed at night.
All around, these things will help you to have a better life.
