“And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.” (1 John 5:11)

For study purpose I had to live with a half brother who did his best to help me grow, but being a “strong willed” child I was often off tract with his rules. Thus, I was often beaten so hard that I developed lying as a defense mechanism to save myself from abuse.

Lying was so rooted in me that I thought I could become a good lawyer. I was attending a catholic mass. One day, when I was 15, during a service the priest ask us to raise our hands as me pray to God, then he said: “Now God is here”.

Since I did not see, or feel the presence of God, I said to myself it was not true. I ran out of the building with disappointment. For about 20 years, I was a lone ranger seeking the truth on my own. One night September 14, 1996 during my sleep a voice said: “Pick up your Bible go to ‘Assemblies Of God’. “

Next morning September 15, 1996 for the first time I found my way to “Assemblies Of God” where I attended the Sunday school. The verse to memorize was “Those who honor me I will honor, but those who despise me will be disdained” (I Samuel 2:30). From that day I continuously attend the services of that Congregation.

January 25, 1997 during an evangelistic campaign the preacher Reinhard Bonnke invited people to pray. As I was praying it happened that I was speaking an unknown language. It was obvious that my tongue became hypersensitive to lying words. From that day on, lying was uprooted as I became a new person.

All my research led me to conclude only Jesus Christ teaching and life lead to a personal relationship with God and to eternal life.

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
