Jesus is the only choice for mankind. That’s a fact. However, it seems that many are not ready to accept that – yet. But a day is coming when all who are not only alive but who are in the graves will hear the voice of the Son of God, and the righteous – those that have followed him – will be resurrected to eternal life – eternal bliss – and the unrighteous – those that spurned him yet who had the chance to believe – will rise to eternal damnation – eternal torment. It’s going to be a great, and terrible, day.
It will be great for all those who have believed. Some will have made it in to heaven “by the skin of their teeth,” as they say – like the thief on the cross. Others will have been life-long servants of God, having served him “day and night” with fasting and prayers, like Anna the prophetess. In terms of heaven and hell, for those who “make it in” the main issue will not be how long they served God but the fact that they chose to do it – yes, for some, even on their deathbed. And God, in his wisdom, will surprise many, in that some who believed later on in life will be first in heaven, according to the word of God, “But many who are last will be first”. Yet, there will also be great rewards for those who served God and made sacrifices for him.
However, this same day will be a terrible day for others. For those who don’t make it in, it will not matter how long they rejected God, or to what extent, the fact is, they will not make it in. Many will be surprised, in that professing believers will be in hell. They professed with their lips, but the true evidence that they were saved was not found in them. There was nothing by which the enemy – Satan – could accuse them for being righteous for, nothing which clearly set them apart as being servants of God, separate from this world and sold out to the only One that really mattered. Such will burn forever in the lake of fire. For such it will be too late. Their time of testing, and opportunity to believe, will have come to an end. And they will have failed.
Heaven and hell. The choice is yours. Which side have you chosen?
“For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth [them]; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: That all [men] should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.” (John 5:21-29)
