I don’t really want to write about judgment against America, because I know it is such a negative topic. However, it’s all I can really think of in light of the recent wave of terrorist acts against the United States, on this, the 11th day of September, as I write these words at my computer terminal.
I am thinking hard of ways to write a compassionate, loving, message. A compassionate, loving message is needed, of course, to deal with all of the pain that is now being experienced nation wide, even world wide, as people begin to fear “What could be next?,” let alone, “How are we going to deal with the present situation?”
America has been rocked.
The immovable has been moved.
President Bush is wrong. America will not be able to stand because of her strength and resolve alone. Something much greater will have to happen for America to be able to stand. God himself will have to ‘move in’ and make America stand.
Unfortunately, God has apparently ‘moved over’ a little bit to the left, because he was pushed out of America’s schools, America’s justice system, and, of course, America’s financial system, which is loaded with corruption and devoid altogether of any honor due to God.
God is blasphemed, mocked, ridiculed, and everything but held in high esteem in America’s financial district.
For the innocent that have have been killed, I am saddened, as I am sure that God is. But God was not permitted to protect America, that is the issue. It is an issue of sin that has ripped the covering from off of America, and permitted these enemies to come into her land.
Yes, the perpetrators should be caught and dealt with. America should defend her territory. However, I believe the real victory will only be solidified when America deals with her shortcomings before God.
America needs to repent and turn away from her sin which has made her vulnerable to attack. This is the real issue.
“When a man’s ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.” (Proverbs 16:7)
“Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.” (Proverbs 14:34)
Are these not the real issues? Are they not?
