September 25, 2014 to September 13, 2015 is a SHMITA or SABBATICAL year (don’t quote me on the dates; but it is approximately this). This is based on the Jewish calendar (that is, God’s calendar, by which He delivers prophetic events) and not the western or Gregorian calendar, which really confuses the issue. So getting on God’s calendar is a “good thing”. God’s calendar is a lunar based calendar, which is also designed to line up with the sun cycles, in asmuch as it is “adjusted” periodically, by adding an extra month. This cycle is called the METONIC cycle. Essentially, 7 times every 19 years, an extra month is added to the calendar. Similar to the concept of a day being added in leap years on the Gregorian calendar, instead a month is added in leap years on this calendar.
But getting back to the main point, September 25, 2014 to September 13, 2015 is a SHMITA or SABBATICAL year. One of the primary differences THIS year is that it lines up with the 2014-2015 blood moon cycle which specifically lands on the feasts of the Lord, as found in Leviticus 23. In fact, it falls on the FIRST (Passover) feast, and the LAST (Tabernacles) feast. This does not happen very often! In fact, the last time it happened was in 1967-68, around the time of the six-day war. Before that, it happened in 1949-50, around the time of the recreation of the Jewish state of Israel. Is this coincidental? Apparently not. The odds of this happening by chance seem to be about ZILCH. In fact, the Bible mentions eclipses relating to prophetic events and also says in Genesis that the stars were given for SIGNS. Then God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years” (Genesis 1:14).
We ALL KNOW about the “seasons, days, and years” but what about the SIGNS? Jesus said, “And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory.” (Matthew 24:30) Could the signs in Genesis 1:14 include signs of the eclipses in a prophetic way? Well, according to the Bible, eclipses DO concide with PROPHETIC SIGNS. For we read, “The sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes.” (Joel 2:31) Is there anything special about the current blood moon cycle (2014-2015)? Well, for one, IT WILL NOT OCCUR like this (4 in a row, overlapping on the Biblical feasts like this) for another 500 plus years! Wow! That’s an awfully long time. Think about these occurrences. In a roughly 1000-year time span, we will have only seen blood moons like this for a total of 3 times. Namely, 1949-50, after Israel became a nation, 1967-68, at the time of the six-day war, and 2014-2015, which is right about now. What is happening? It is now January 2015, and we are INSIDE the September 2014 to September 2015 time frame. We are IN the year of the Shmita (the Sabbatical year).
Is something going to happen? Some people say YES. Some believe in fact that it could signify the collapse of the financial markets. I do not know if this is true, but I do know we are living in turbulent times. So I think it is prudent to check them out, particulary when we hear a consistency in the messages among many people who are servants of God. Specifically I would encourage you to start following Jonathan Cahn and Mark Biltz, two Messianic Jews (they know Christ as their Savior) who have a lot to say about this year (remembering that the year we are referring to is the Shmita year). There are also other events that they talk about. I would encourage you to please check them out as well as those who endorse them. Here are some videos that will help you.
