Trials and Tribulations

Trials and tribulations will always come. The way we face them proves how much of a Christian we are on the inside. It’s easy to SAY that we are Christian, but when they come, they reveal how strong we really are on the inside (i.e. the inner man).

We might know a lot of verses in our heads, but how many of these verses do we apply when difficult times come?

Thank God that the Holy Spirit is there to bring life to His Word.

“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13

When hard times come, we have to remember that (as the song says) “God will make a way when there seems to be no way, He works in ways we cannot see, He will make a way for me…”

If we feel the load is too big to carry by ourselves, then we only have to give it to Him: As the Scripture says, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” 1 Peter 5:7

The other thing that the enemy would like us to believe is that WE ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO ARE GOING THROUGH A PARTICULAR SITUATION! It is not true and he will always try to tell us lies about any situation that we feel we are not able to go through.

The devil wants to PARALYZE us so that we won’t use the power that God gave us. He will use lies so that we might not see his tricks. He might remind us of our past mistakes (that have been forgiven), and say that God didn’t really forgive us. He might tell us lies about friends (mostly our pastors…). So we have to be aware of his strategies, that we are not taken in by them.

As my pastor says: “We know when we are seduced, but we don’t know when we are deceived — someone has to tell us.” The devil might also say that we are THE ONLY ONE who understands a particular passage clearly, and that all the others are wrong. When something like this happen, we have to be aware, because this is one of his tricks.

God knew about the devil’s strategy, so Peter wrote: “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.” 1 Peter 5:8-9

We don’t have to be afraid, because the Bible says, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” 1 John 4:4

God bless you and BE strong in the Lord!
