When the Hydro Goes Out: A Prophetic Word For the Country of Canada, and Beyond

I had been greatly burdened with the state of the Church and the level of compromise in it, especially regarding the homosexual issue. On Aug 12,2003, as I was praying the Lord emphasized Lev. 18:22-30. He showed me that, as a nation we have crossed a spiritual boundary that will have serious consequences unless we make it a matter of urgent prayer.

You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination………. for by all these the nations are defiled, which I am casting out before you. For the land is defiled; therefore I visit the punishment of its iniquity upon it, and the land vomits out its inhabitants. You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations……….. and thus the land is defiled, lest the land vomit you out also when you defile it, as it vomited out the nations that were before you. For whoever commits any of these abominations, the persons who commit them shall be cut off from among their people. (Lev 18:22-29 NKJV)

On Aug 14, 2003, I was praying for the body of Christ especially in this area. At approximately 3:30 PM the Lord began to speak to me as I was deep in prayer and weeping for this nation and the body of Christ. He told me that unless we repent of our many sins, judgement will fall upon Canada. We need to not only quote 2 Chr 7:14 NKJV, but DO IT“.

“if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

We need to turn from our wicked ways, and we need to repent. He is not interested in all our church programs if our heart is not right. We need to repent of our pride. I’m better than those or I,m better than these. I’m not as bad as…..

Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men; extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess. And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner! I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted. (Lk.18:10-14)

We need to repent of our indifferences and our complacency. We need to repent of closing up our bowels of compassion.

We need to repent of our indifference to the needs of those around us, those in the church and outside of the church. We see the needs but do little or nothing about them. Yes, there are some that pray, and this is pleasing to God, but who helps his brother in a tangible way any more? (other than those closest to him) Very few.

We need to repent of our indifference and winking at sin. A little of this or a little of that, God understands, God knows my heart. Let’s not offend them even if they are living in sin and living together, or if someone gets divorced without a biblical foundation and re-marries – God doesn’t really expect me to live single the rest of my life, does He? What does it matter what God’s word says, let’s do what we want anyway. God’s standard is still holiness. God has always and still requires a repentant heart. Sin is all around us, In our homes and in our churches. What does it matter if someone has a little sin in his life, after all, nobody’s perfect. Even if a person tries to correct someone who is in blatant sin? Don’t judge, mind your own business. This tremendously grieves the heart of God. What about Ananias and Sapphira? (Acts 5:1-10) God is calling us to live holy lives. How can the world see the difference if we don’t live lives sanctified and separated for God’s kingdom? And if they don’t see the difference, how will they be drawn to repentance?

Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are. Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. (1 Cor 3:16-18 NKJV)

We need to repent of trying to do God’s work in our own strength. We have all these marvellous programs, but has God ordained them – and are those who have ordained these programs and those who volunteer for them living holy lives? We are called to be a light in this world. Although it is a good thing to show people that you care for them, this is not what God is referring to when he says that we are to be a light in this world. A light shows the way – the right way to God. God is calling us to be holy as He is holy and bring the harvest in. If we don’t, he will hold us accountable for a rotten harvest.

but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.” (1 Pet 1:15-16 NKJV)

We need to repent (and this point God emphasized greatly) – We need to repent of the tremendous compromise in the church. We have not stood up for sound Biblical doctrine. We have not stood up for holiness. So instead of us influencing the world, the world has entered the church, and now there is little difference between the world and the church. God is still holy, and still requires us to be holy. This compromise has crept in little by little and we have complacently sat back and done very little to stop it. We have not spoken out against unrighteousness and upheld God’s holy standards. Now they are ordaining practising homosexuals, and if you don’t agree with THEM, you are being intolerant. Oh how far we have fallen. May God have mercy on us all.

* The word “holy” means to be “set apart” or “separated from” and “spotless, without blemish“. This is why sin CANNOT be in the presence of God. If God allowed sin to enter His presence, he would no longer be “separate” from sin. He would no longer be holy. This is why he wants us to be holy, so we can enter his presence with clean hands and a pure heart and receive the petitions we ask for. This is what 2 Chron.7:14 is talking about.

Now, at approximately 4:12 PM I heard a shofar being blown in the spirit, and I heard the Lord say very clearly. “It is time for my people to wake up. It is time for my people to prepare themselves for war,” and He told me to blow my shofar, which I did according to His instructions. At 4:15 PM the hydro for the entire province of Ontario went out. Then I heard Him speak 2 Chr 7:14

“if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

I believe the Lord is trying to show us the true spiritual state of this country, especially since the legalization of gay marriages.

I found it especially interesting that He said to prepare for war, and no go to war. This would imply we are not ready for war. We need to humble ourselves and turn from our wicked ways first, then and only then will he hear us and forgive our sin and heal our land.
