Who Is Our Source?

Where do we find security, comfort, and protection in our lives? We all look to something or someone to fill those needs: our jobs, our government, our economy, our family, our network of business associates, our financial investments. What happens when any one of those are threatened, fail, fall through or go south? We are faced with having to answer this question: is our security in these things or in God?

God does not want us living on the edge in crisis mode. This does not fall in line with His word that He came to give us life and life more abundantly (John 10:10) Is there peace, joy, or hope living in crisis mode?

Phillipians 4:19 says: And my God shall supply all your needs according to HIS riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Matthew 6:33 says: But seek first HIS kingdom and HIS righteousness and all these things wil be given to you as well. These are just two of the scriptures that hold the key, the answer to where our source of supply is. HIS riches by Christ Jesus, HIS kingdom, HIS righteousness. The emphasis is on HIS and not on us. Simply stated our source of supply is GOD, JEHOVAH-JIREH our provider. His kingdom is “His way of doing things.”

First of all, let me say this for those of you who want to believe this, but felt you’ve made every mistake one person can make with regards to God’s way of handling finances. Maybe you haven’t tithed, you haven’t given offerings, you’ve bought a lot of stuff on credit, you didn’t pay your bills on time—whatever it is that you are feeling condemned over or whatever you are feeling convicted about. You may be facing a mountain of debt, a pending lay-off, a foreclosure. You may even feel like you deserve what you’re getting because of your mistakes. Don’t despair! Our God is our Redeemer. He can turn your situation around with one mighty Word of His power. The man who went to the pool for 38 years was healed in an instant. He took up his bed and walked. The bed no longer carried him! God wants to forgive our sins and mistakes. He has pity on us as a Father pities His children. When you make a mistake or have sinned don’t ever run away from God, run to Him. He is the only source of true deliverance.

That being said, we need to put our trust in Him. When the enemy comes with thoughts of fear, lack, doubt, uncertainty we have the authority to say that the blood of Jesus is over our sins, washed away. We can come to the throne without condemnation to find help in time of need.

God is wanting His body to be PREPARED (not SCARED) in these last days! He want His people to be prepared for the transfer of the end time wealth from the hands of the wicked into the righteous (James 5:1-8). We must know who we are in Christ Jesus. We must live and breathe by God’s kingdom, His way of doing things. We must follow the leading of the Holy Spirit by His Word.

He has always warned His people of impending disaster and has always made a way of escape. The children of Israel left Egypt with its riches! Joseph was in charge of the entire country’s resources in the time of famine. Jesus did mighty miracles of healing, prosperity and deliverance in the midst of one of the most cruel and demonic world powers: Rome. God can have his way in the midst of this world’s system. God doesn’t run on this world’s system. God doesn’t take his cues from the stock market. He’s put His Spirit in us, and has given us the authority to speak His Word and see HIS kingdom come, HIS will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

John 17: 15-18: Jesus said his prayer was not that we be taken out of the world, but we be protected from the evil one.

We are not of this world, just as He is not of this world. That we be sanctified by truth, His Word being truth.

Jesus said, (John 14:1) Do not let your hearts be troubled, Trust in God, trust also in me. and in John 16:33 I have told you these things, so that in me you might have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation, but take heart! I have overcome the world.

God is exhorting us, encouraging us to get in our places in these last days–for ourselves and for the world. If we live in the world’s system, we will have tribulation. If we live in Christ, we will have peace. We need to have peace so we can offer the world the solution: Jesus.
