You love me!

“Your eyes have seen my unformed substance;
And in Your book were all written
The days that were ordained for me,
When as yet there was not one of them.
How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand
When I awake, I am still with You.” (Psalm 139:16-18)

Have you ever suffered from feelings of rejection, feeling that you were unwanted or unloved? The truth of the matter is that you may have been both unwanted and unloved by your earthly parents, but you were certainly not unwanted or unloved by God! For while you were yet in your mother’s womb, God knew you! The psalmist writes:

“For You formed my inward parts;
You wove me in my mother’s womb.” (Psalm 139:13)

The psalmist continues:

“Your eyes have seen my unformed substance;
And in Your book were all written
The days that were ordained for me,
When as yet there was not one of them.” (Psalm 139:16)

The psalmist is overwhelmed with this, and writes:

“How precious are Your thoughts to me, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand.” (Psalm 139:17-18a)

In context, this passage is about the absolute love and affection and pure desire that God had for YOU while you will still in the womb (or even before)! God’s thoughts towards you were not “IN PASSING”! The psalmist makes this perfectly clear – and it is the strong point of this passage – when he writes, with absolute certainty, “How VAST is the sum of them! If I should COUNT them, they would OUTNUMBER the sand.”

How many thoughts of affection and love does THAT represent?!

God has had MORE thoughts towards you than can be COUNTED! His thoughts towards you have been so GREAT in number that they OUTNUMBER THE SAND!

You had better start pondering those thoughts if you want to be able to tap into a RICH RESOURCE and VAST WEALTH OF STRENGTH for you as you carry on your daily business!

In this world, you will encounter many difficulties. Many people will tell you, or seem to tell, or imply that you are worth nothing! For example, take the stance of the abortionist (that is, anyone who believes in abortion, that it should be defended as a ‘right’ of the mother). The abortionist says that you are only worth something if you are wanted by the mother. If you are not wanted by the mother, then the mother has the right to put you to death. In the abortionist’s eyes, you have no necessary value. You are disposable. You are worth less than nothing. You are worth less than a dog, or some animal, or even some piece of meat at a local foodstore. This is reality. This is the absolutely sick world that you and I live in. This is the world which, along with the heart, is described in the Bible as being ‘desperately sick, untrustworthy, sinful, lustful, boastful and adulterous’ (Jeremiah 17:9, Mark 8:28, John 2:24-25, 1 John 2:16). And this well describes the abortionist. This thought has permeated our society and is lived out on a regular, daily, systematic, basis. The messages society sends at you repeatedly, for the most part, are in ‘sync’ with this message. Watch out that you don’t actually believe this message, because it is a lie! God bless the abortionists, that they should see that they are embracing and teaching a lie, straight from the devil who is the father of lies himself!

OK. Now let’s turn the page. What does God say? God, in His word, says you are of GREAT significance to Him! Now if you have read God’s word, you will know that it is the devil that is the “accuser”. God is *not* the “accuser”. This should give you some insight as to the type of thoughts that God has for you! His thoughts are not thoughts of condemnation or accusation, but rather they are benevolent, kind, loving, warm and tender thoughts. They are also VAST in number, as we read in Psalm 139:17-18a (quoted above).

The following are some of the types of thoughts God has for you. In prayer, and in reading God’s word, you can explore many many others!

“I love you”. “I have a wonderful plan for you.” “I created you for a purpose.” “You are destined to be used by me in a marvellous way.” “I think good thoughts towards you and not bad thoughts.” “I see GREAT potential in you!” “I will work everything out if you just trust me!” “If anything goes wrong, I will be there to help you!” “I will see you through!” “I will be a father to you!” “I will comfort you when you are hurting!” “I will help you to help others!” “I will use you to help shine the light of my goodness into this world!” “You are a formidable creation (because I made you). You are capable of doing the most extraordinary kinds of things!” “You have gifts and I intend to use them to help others.” “You are my child and I will ALWAYS love you!”

These are only a few of the ‘vast’ number of thoughts that God has for you, as His child! But the number of actual number of them outnumbers the sand, as we read in Psalm 139! If you have a hard time believing this, you need to simply say, “God, you’re right! I’m wrong! And you really do love me with an extraordinary kind of passion!”

I urge you today and encourage you to ponder the thoughts that God has for you! For He really does love you! You are special, and that makes you a very significant person. This also makes it ethically wrong and immoral to abort (kill) an unborn child. This practice, which has been going on for many years, will surely bring about the wrath of God on an unholy nation – mark my words. There has never been a more fitting time to repent and proclaim both God’s favor on the righteous and his judgment on the wicked.

In return for His love for you, I’m urging you, and even pleading with you, to surrender yourself to His Lordship today. Even today, despite anything and everything you have been through, He wants to make you into the person that He has always destined you to be. Let Him do that, will you?
